Temps Mort, by French-Algerian artist Mohamed Bourouissa, gathers Bourouissa’s exchanges with his friend Al over eight months, while Al was imprisoned. Their communication—consisting of texts messages, photographs, and videos—took place exclusively via cell phone. Bourouissa provided framing and shooting instructions to Al, who then took pictures with his low-res camera phone.
