In Privacy Settings, Dutch photographer Erik van der Weijde makes photographs of a sleeping child, his son. In each of the black-and-white images, his son is fast asleep, cast about the bed in different configurations, surrounded by rumpled sheets. Occasionally, he’s accompanied by his sleeping mother. Van der Weijde invokes the domesticity and vulnerability also present in Sophie Calle’s The Sleepers and Fred Hüning’s Private Rooms.
