American Surveillance: Someone to Watch Over Me

Richard Gordon studied political science at the University of Chicago and has shot on city streets for decades. This work looks at the urban landscape of his native Chicago through the proliferation of surveillance cameras in January 2003. Working with an understanding of the law regarding photography in public and private places, he smartly captures the ubiquity of such cameras.
