Doug Rickard’s Tom gathers vintage, found images that reveal the voyeuristic surveillance of a certain kind of woman in 1960s Los Angeles: stylish, stockinged, short-skirted. The women are unidentified but presumed to be the object of someone’s desire. Although the pictures’ origins are unknown, the sense of unease they provoke is more fitting today than ever.
