Jason Vaughn’s project focuses on deer stands as focus points for the hunting tradition and sport in his adopted home state of Wisconsin. The project took on more profound meaning when Vaughn was diagnosed with cancer shortly after having his first child. “Ultimately, Hide became my reflection on legacies and family, my homage to the state that has become my home, and a narrative about accepting change,” he writes.
